Note: I'll be posting two entries today, because I couldn't get online last night. (My Internet still isn't working.)
Fast Food is Fat Food
Living in the United States, one will quickly see that fast food is a normal part of the human life. It has become so large of a way of eating, that it almost seems part of the American culture. But there is such a thing as too much fast food. Fast food is fat food.
Too much of anything is truly unhealthy. But with the American mindset, it’s run around and get things done as quickly as possible. This includes eating. American citizens are on-the-go kind of people; so home-cooked meals are becoming a thing of the past for many people these days. The idea is to just get what you can and go, so many Americans will stop at the nearest Fast-Food place to pick something up. And in between all the rushing around and doing things, there is no longer any time for exercise. So remember that cheeseburger you had for lunch? Now it’s just sitting on your stomach and adding to the fat you’re too busy to burn off.
And now there’s more available than just a simple burger and fries. Because of the amount of Fast-Food consumption in the U.S. today, many places started to offer “healthier” foods. Between McDonald’s salads and Burger King’s Apple Fries, Americans are once again given the chance to eat better, even on the go. Right? Not quite. Because citizens of the United States have gotten so used to eating poorly, not even something supposed to be healthy turns out that way. Perhaps you drown your salad in dressing? Maybe you dip those Apple Fries in a little too much caramel? Either way, it’s been proven that either of those choices is sometimes worse for your health than a Big Mac or a Whopper with cheese.
So just remember, Americans, that fast food is fat food. If you really want to eat healthy, stop using so much dressing. Or, if you’re on the run, pack a lunch to bring with you. If you want to keep eating fast food, just remember: it’s YOUR choice! The moral of the story is: Stop suing McDonald’s, when you get fat due to your own decisions.
I know that wasn't a really well organized essay, but it was more of a rant than anything else. I'm fine with people eating fast food, but when people complain about it, because it's making them gain weight, then it's just annoying. D<
